For remote access to the EWS labs on 8/21/07, remsun.ews.uiuc.edu is available. All other workstations are still in the process of being prepared for the semester and will return to production tomorrow morning.
The Engineering WorkStation Labs will be closed throughout the Summer Interim (8/6/07-8/21/07). This time will be used for maintenance being performed as EWS prepares for the upcoming semester. During this time, all the labs will be closed to normal use. Remote access to the workstations will also be disabled through Sunday, 19 August 2007.
Specific labs will be kept open for pre-existing workshops that have reserved the labs which do not rely on the services that will be down during this time. Students should not try to use these labs as they are reserved and open only for the workshops that have the labs reserved.
Services that will remain in service throughout this period include:
- The EWS Website-
www.ews.uiuc.edu, will remain in service throughout the maintenance period. Student and course webspaces will be intermittently unavailable. - License Servers-
All licenses hosted on sunserv3.ews.uiuc.edu will not be affected by this maintenance. There will be intermittent downtime for licenses hosted on winserv3.ews.uiuc.edu, but this will be during the designated 5-7am test times.
The moves/upgrades/maintenance will most likely be finished sooner than 8/21. An announcement will be posted when everything is complete.
