Solaris Phaseout - Summer 2007

EWS Will be phasing out the Solaris Workstations this coming Summer (2007). This affects the 057 Grainger lab and the L440 DCL lab. We will continue to provide Solaris remote server access through Summer 2008.

Of the software that is regularly requested for classes, software that may have been only available for Solaris at one time, is now available for Linux and in many cases Windows. If you are a Professor/Instructor or TA and your class makes use of the Solaris labs, please contact EWS Manager (mananger@ews.uiuc.edu) as soon as possible so that we can ensure your software is installed and working in the Linux or Windows labs for the Fall.

If you know of any software currently being used in the labs that you believe to be available only for Solaris, please contact EWS Manager (manager@ews.uiuc.edu) with this information.
