Research
My research involves using data mining and modeling methods to address complex environmental systems problems, such as characterizing large-scale environmental systems and modeling the fate and transport of contaminants within these systems. In particular, I am using statistical, machine learning and pattern recognition tools such as decision trees, association rule mining, artificial neural networks, support vector machines and Bayesian networks, to create innovative and efficient solutions to these problems. Recent applications include coastal water quality monitoring and field-scale transport in the subsurface.
