I'm a Student.

I study control theory (a sub-discipline of electrical engineering) at the University of Illinois (UIUC). I graduated with a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from UIUC in 2005, and if all goes well I will complete a Ph.D. within the next year. I have also studied elsewhere; I spent four years in Waco, TX working on my undergraduate degree in engineering at Baylor University.

I've lived in Texas and Illinois.

I was born and spent the first 21 years of my life in Texas. I grew up in the forested Eastern part of the state about 100 miles East of Dallas. I attended college in Waco, located in the hill country of central Texas. After college, I moved 800 miles to the North to the twin cities of Champaign and Urbana, Illinois. I've made my home here for the past 5 years.

I enjoy visiting National Parks.

I have a passion for the outdoors and enjoy hiking every chance I have. I'm a big fan of the canyons of Utah and Arizona, the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming, and the forests and coasts of Washington.

I am a Quaker Christian.

I worship with the Quakers of the Champaign-Urbana community. Although I was raised an evangelical Christian, my spiritual journey has led me to the community of the Quakers. We worship in silence, and are deeply involved in justice and peace initiatives.
