Short Bio
I am a PhD candidate in the Data Mining Research Group, Department of Computer Science at University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. My advisor is Professor Jiawei Han. Before joining UIUC, I studied in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Michigan State University. I received M.E. and B.E. from the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Harbin Institute of Technology in China. I interned at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center and NEC Labs America during 2007-2009.
Research Interests
I am broadly interested in data and information analysis with a focus on data mining and machine learning. In particular, my research interests include ensemble methods, transfer learning, mining data streams and anomaly detection. I am also interested in text and web mining, statistical analysis and data mining applications in system and security.
