LEGOBOT PROJECT
This is a final project for the Computer Engineering II class,
ECE291.
For this semester, the object of the game is to build a robot that will
play a game of basketball. On the miniture size court, with a
ping pong ball dispenser in the center. This dispenser is laced with
IR emitters so the dispenser can be located. There are one, two and
three point zones and the baskets are located by two little light sources.
The project is broken down in the following:
1) Building the robot -- this is the fun part
- Using legos,
the robot is designed to locate the ping pong ball dispenser. Obtain
the balls in the dispenser. Locate the basket. And dispense the balls
to the basket. Points are adjusted to the difficulty of the shot.
Here is the complete rules/instructions
for the project.
2) Programming the programmable VESTA
microcontroller board
- The robot is to be programmed to
expect any situation that may arise in the playing field; in other words
fully autonomous. The microcontroller was based on the intel 80x86 language
and worked very well.
